Shell E-Learning Website roll out

Background
The primary goal of the project was to deliver a consistent approach across the world in Shell.  The global IT solution chosen by Shell was SAP.

Issues
A long term project delivering to multi countries in parallel.  To be completed whilst updating the aging infrastructure.

Solution
Our role was to deliver the technical solution to deploy training using e-learning lessons.  The system chosen was STT from Kaplan.  We made sure that the technology was in place to make sure end users got the correct version of the lesson on time.
We also carried out extensive testing for an infrastructure upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows Vista.  Shell was one of the first major companies in the corporate world to make the leap to Windows Vista.
We deployed over 2,000 lessons to over 80,000 people in 100 countries.  The central base was in London with some work carried out at our office in Lincoln.

Applications
Most of our solutions were delivered through a web based front end.  In the back office we used SQL and MS Access databases.  MS Excel was used for analysis and reporting.
