    If you are anything like me, you may spend lots of time reading blogs, trying your best to pick the best and most dynamic information on SEO techniques from the myriad of information that is the Web, you’ll know how difficult it can be to get the right data.     Here as part of the weekly blog I have devised a list of what works best in link-building (in my opinion), collated from numerous articles and blog posts I have researched. On saying that it is not the bible of link-building but hopefully will provide you with a basis, to start the process of link-building and give you a plan which, you can implement yourself.

    So Why Link-Build?  Well, any good SEO company will tell you that 90% of your time should be based on content building, yet despite this the 10% you spend toward link-building is still important and should not be overlooked.

    I know, I know, it can sound a bit boring talking about stats and numbers, but they are an integral part of your social media strategy. Yes it’s fun to tweet cool stuff, and re-tweet your friends and colleagues, but what’s the point if you don’t know if your message is reaching who you want it to? Let’s face it, you may as well be screaming into the wind. People will time and time again tell you how powerful a tool social media is; and it’s true it can be, but it needs to be utilised in the right way otherwise you’ll be wasting your precious time. 

    Whilst content is important and in the case of Twitter especially so, given you only have 140 characters to convey your message. The need to know how successful your tweets are is essential to any marketing strategy; after all you need to know if your tweets and your messaging are being targeted at the right people, if they’re reaching them and most of all if they’re reading them. 
     
    Whilst Twitter can do great things, it does have its issues. Yes, it is the fastest social media platform to set up and has a very large reach, but at times you can struggle to find followers and even when you do they can often be irrelevant (say from India and have nothing to do with your business). It is key therefore that you gather a following that fits with your marketing demographic, profile and sales targeting. Aside from gaining relevant followers, you also have to tackle the issue of getting lost in the ether that is someone’s twitter feed.

    This month there has been some pretty big news at Facebook HQ! They have recently announced the acquisition of a shopping search engine called “TheFind”
     
    So why buy such a company? Well, Facebook claims that it intends to utilise it to make its own ads better and lead to better personalisation of product ads, creating a more inviting environment for people, businesses and websites to sell their products.

    So what does “TheFind” offer? Well it is still very much in the development stage, but it will look at allowing users to get personalised recommendations whilst they search combined with Facebook’s current product ad capabilities. Last month Facebook announced new product ads designed to help businesses promote multiple products across multiple devices. When this then combines with “TheFind” and its features and technology, these ads could become increasingly more effective.

    So firstly you may be asking; what is Pinterest? 

    Well Pinterest is a platform that allows users to share and save content to virtual collections called boards. It launched in 2012 and already has built up 70 million+ users (not bad for 3 years). Pinterest is known as being a hub for DIY, craft projects, recipes, fashion, home decor, health and fitness and many more topics.
